IMPORTANT UPDATES: Newsletter ✨Rebrand✨ & New Offerings
Today's Fun Friday is all about what's new here in my lil corner of the Internet!
Happy Friday friends! I’ve been thinking about rebranding my newsletter for quite some time now, but I haven’t had the courage to rip off the band-aid and change my publication name: until now.
Since my newsletter is starting to grow and I’m seeing some lovely new faces around here (Welcome! 😊), I decided it’s time I finally make the shift that’s been brewing in my brain for the past few months.
P.S. If you’re new around here and want to get to know me a little more, feel free to check out my About Page here, or shoot me a DM anytime! I’m so glad to have you and I’m unendingly grateful for your support.
When I first started my Substack over a year ago, I chose to call my publication Allegory Landing. Truth be told, I wasn’t too sure what to name it at the time. I sat in the library of my alma mater and stared at the Substack sign up screen, racking my brain for the perfect title. Allegory Landing came to me because my plan was to exclusively write short stories & philosophy-focused socio-political articles. Inspired by the fascinating short stories I read in my college literature class, I include one or more allegories in every story that I write. Similarly, my thought-provoking articles are intended to push my readers to discover “more” beneath the surface of various topics. Thus, the “Allegory Landing” name suited the newsletter that I began to write.
More than a year has since passed, and my writing choices have evolved since I started out on Substack. Over the past few months, I’ve consistently posted twice per week. On Mondays, I share insightful/useful articles on topics related to ghostwriting. These articles are based on my experiences as a freelance ghostwriter, and are intended to help others find freedom and fulfillment through ghostwriting or another writing-based career. On Fridays, I post a “Fun(ny) Friday” article or story. These posts range from weird things I’m thinking about to serialized stories to fun collaborative pieces with other writers!
As I’ve learned more about ghostwriting, I’ve become very passionate about it. I love what I do, and I want to share the beauty of it with others. I also want to help writers find practical advice for chasing their dreams, since I know what it feels like to dream of writing full-time.
Because that was me.
The massive shift in overall tone and content for my newsletter has led me to ~officially~ decide to rebrand my publication. I want to make it easier for Substack users to quickly understand what I write about and what the vibe of my page is. My current title does not fulfill that goal.
As a result, I’m now introducing ✨The Ghost Post✨
What does the rebrand entail (besides a newsletter name change)?
I’m so glad you asked! 😉
My Monday and Friday posts will continue as before, so the only change there will be the publication name & banner in your emails! 💜
Updates to the chat: I’ll now be using the chat feature more regularly to check in, answer questions/offer feedback, and learn more about each of the lovely people in my Substack circle! For the time being, this feature will remain free to all subscribers. 🥰
For paid subs, I’m soon to launch a mini podcast! I am SO excited about this. Each podcast post will run 2-10 min max, and will respond to a question that I’ve received directly from subscribers who want to know more about ghostwriting, building a writing career, freelancing, etc! I’ll respond in-depth and provide specific resources in these podcasts, so you won’t want to miss it. Stay tuned for this and don’t forget to upgrade to paid for access! 🎙️
As soon as Substack grants me access to the live feature, I’ll be hosting a live work-along hour every week for my paid subs! Before starting these, I’ll send out a poll to see when most of you are available each week. 📝
Have any other suggestion(s) for me? I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to send me a DM anytime. 😊
I’m grateful for each of you and I’m overjoyed that you take the time to read my words each week. I don’t take this blessing lightly, and I consider Substack upkeep & involvement to be a major part of my remote work.
As I change up my newsletter today, I’d love for you to embark on this new chapter with me by subscribing or upgrading to a paid subscription below!
Your support means the world to me. I’d love to hear any questions or comments that you may have regarding these updates in the comment section below or via DM!
