🚨 Please Read 🚨 How can I make The Ghost Post better for you?
What's working and what isn't here at The Ghost Post? 👻 I want to hear from YOU!
Happy Wednesday, friends! I typically release my biweekly podcast episodes for The Ghost Host on Wednesdays, but today I wanted to grab your attention for something super important.
After about 8 months of posting consistently on Substack, I’ve seen a strange shift in my growth trends. I’d like to discuss that shift today and ask you to respond to a few polls to help me serve you better!
It would mean the world to me if you’d take a minute to answer just a few questions!
So here’s the backstory for today’s post (feel free to skip to the 6 poll questions if you’re not interested):
From July to September 2024, I saw relatively slow growth at The Ghost Post. This was expected because I had just started posting consistently and building social trust/community on Substack.
From mid-September to early December, my growth began to snowball, meaning the newsletter was gaining traction more and more quickly. I stayed consistent with posting twice per week (with voice overs on my posts), being active on Notes, and using the Chat weekly. Not only did my subscriber count increase during this time, but my 30-day views count also skyrocketed and the number of likes on my posts increased.
Starting in mid-December, though, this seemed to plateau a bit and then decrease in early 2025. While I’ve gained some subscribers over the past couple of months, most have come from recommendations instead of my own Notes/outreach. I’ve added more features for subs, such as interviews with helpful figures in the writing/marketing community and The Ghost Host paid-subscriber biweekly podcast. I’ve also updated my page so that everything is more cohesive and easy to navigate.
So why have my like counts on my posts, my 30-day viewer counts, and my subscriber growth rates decreased?
That’s what I’m hoping to find out this week!
And that’s why I need your help.
So here are my quick questions for you…
That’s it! Thank you all for taking the time to answer the polls. I really appreciate it. Have a fantastic rest of your week.
